Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey has signalled a warning that those who continue to abuse the elderly will feel the full extent of the law.

He has already engaged the Barbados Police Service for assistance, and is determined to see justice for seniors who continue to be victims.

“I want to make it categorically clear that in any situation where elderly abuse is being delivered upon any elderly person in Barbados, that the ministry will do all in its power to make sure that we bring these perpetrators to some kind of justice.

“This is wrong. We cannot be a society that claims to care about our family and each other, and we’re treating the elderly who would have done so much for this country in the way that we’re treating the elderly. (RA)
