147 new virus cases

A total of 147 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases (87 males and 60 females) were recorded on Tuesday, June 21, from the 670 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new positives comprised 30 people who are under the age of 18, and 117 who are 18 years and older.

There were 21 people in isolation facilities, and 866 in home isolation.

Barbados’ confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 83 242 (37 941 males and 45 301 females), and the number of deaths is 472.

The public health laboratory has carried out 699 191 tests since February 2020. Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 475 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 153 318 (56.6 per cent of the total population or 67.1 per cent of the eligible population).
