COVID-19 Update for July 2

Barbados recorded 121 new COVID-19 cases, 60 males and 61 females, from the 606 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday, July 2.

Of the positive cases, 18 people were under the age of 18, and 103 were 18 years and older.

There were 122 people in isolation facilities, while 1 233 were in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded yesterday, so the number of COVID-19-related deaths remains at 477.

The public health laboratory has conducted 706 630 tests since February 2020, and recorded 84 830 COVID-19 cases (38 829 males and 46 001 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 633 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 548 (67 322 males and 86 226 females), which represents 56.7 per cent of the total population, or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population. The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.  (BGIS)
