COVID-19 Update for July 3

A total of 89 new COVID-19 cases (28 males and 61 females) were recorded on Sunday, July 3, from the 352 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new positives comprised 13 people who are under the age of 18, and 76 who are 18 years and older.

There were 130 people in isolation facilities, and 1 352 in home isolation.

Barbados’ confirmed COVID-19 cases now stand at 84 919 (38 857 males and 46 062 females), and the number of deaths remain at 477.

The public health laboratory has carried out 706 982 tests since February 2020.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 641 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 571 (56.7 per cent of the total population or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
