COVID-19 Update for July 4

Two hundred and two people, 95 males and 107 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, July 4, from the 817 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 35 people under the age of 18, and 167 who were 18 years and older.

There were 111 people in isolation facilities, while 1 246 were in home isolation.

The number of COVID-19 related deaths remains at 477.

The public health laboratory has conducted 707 799 tests since February 2020, and recorded 85 121 COVID-19 cases (38 952 males and 46 169 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 649 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 153 590 (56.7 per cent of the total population or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
