The family of Franz Walkes is saying his death was another case of wrong place, wrong time.

The 47-year-old, of St Matthias Housing Development, Christ Church, was liming in his car around 12:30 a.m. yesterday at a tequila and taco night event at Byer’s Boozie Bites Bar and Restaurant, along Long Bay Main Road, St Philip, when eyewitnesses said a stray bullet struck him.

He tried to drive away shortly after, but crashed into a nearby house.

Police reported that five other people were injured during the shooting spree, one of whom was an off-duty police officer. They were later transported by a number of ambulances to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. (CA)
