Tropical wave and flash-flood watch

Date:

Share post:

A tropical wave is affecting Barbados, generating overcast skies, periods of rain and pockets of moderate to heavy showers.

Some areas in St James and St George have already recorded up to 40mm of rainfall. As the day progresses, similar weather conditions will persist across the island and therefore further rainfall accumulations of 25 to 50mm in moderate to heavy showers are likely.

A flash-flood watch is in effect for Barbados.

A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible. (PR/SAT)
