Sada Williams also safely through to the semis

Barbados’ Sada Williams produced a dominant performance to win heat three of the women’s 400 metres event at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Sunday.

Williams, the 24 year-old national record holder, eased to victory in 51.06 seconds to book her spot in Wednesday’s semi-finals.

Modesto Juste Morauskaite of Lithuania was second in 51.27 seconds ahead of Great Britain’s Ama Pipi (51.32).

Jonathan Jones also qualified for the semis in the men’s event which was held earlier.

Sprint hurdler Shane Brathwaite will be final Barbadian on the track today when he competes in the semi-finals of the men’s 110m hurdles at 8:05pm. (AGB)
