Barbadian Shane Brathwaite was disqualified in the men’s 110 metres hurdles final at World Athletics Championships tonight in Eugene, Oregon.

In one of the most chaotic races of the championships, Brathwaithe clipped the fifth barrier, knocked down the sixth and then stepped off the track. He was running in lane one.

Before the race started Jamaica’s Olympic champion Hansle Parchment suffered a hamstring injury in the warm up and American Devon Allen later false started.

The event was won by defending champion Grant Holloway of the United States in 13.03 seconds. His compatriot Trey Cunningham took silver in 13.08 seconds while Spain’s Asier Martinez secured bronze in a personal best time of 13.17 seconds. (AGB)
