COVID-19 Update for July 17

A total of 170 new COVID-19 cases, 77 males and 93 females, were recorded from the 507 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Sunday, July 17.

Of the positive cases, 28 people were under the age of 18, and 142 were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 37, while 1 888 were in home isolation.

As at July 17, there were 479 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 716 572 tests since February 2020, and recorded 87 754 COVID-19 cases (40 102 males and 47 652 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 821 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 820 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
