Home Teams Hill Road and Chargers were straight-sets winners when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Junior Volleyball Knockout continued on Sunday at the Hill Road, Bank Hall court.

Hill Road, with veterans Sharon Bovell and Anthazia Mason in their line-up, stopped Wow Foundation United 25-13, 25-15. After losing the first set, Foundation looked ready to give player Andrea Lynch a memorable 60th birthday.

However, trailing 8-10, Chargers surged to 16-10 with tremendous serving from Khadija Mason. Vanessa Layne kept Foundation in the hunt with her attacks but the counter of Abiel Lynch gave Hill Road the victory.

Chargers, who lost both Bovell and Mason to Hill Road during the break, used their reserves to beat Carlton 25-18, 25-18. Mason has now played club  volleyball for five different teams. She has also won titles with the Combined Schools, Toners, Chargers and Warrens.

Deacons also exploited their home court advantage with their women edging Development Volleyball in Motion 25-21, 24-26, 15-10 while the men turned away Foundation 25-19, 25-20.

In Cave Hill, the Ifill School Police finally subdued The Club 25-22, 21-25, 15-9 while home advantage did not exist for UWI as Hill Road men pipped them 24-26, 25-16, 15-9. (KB)
