COVID-19 Update for July 21

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 374 new COVID-19 cases, 142 males and 232 females, from the 1 032 tests carried out on Thursday, July 21.

The cases consisted of 55 people under the age of 18, and 319 who were 18 years and older.

There were 50 people in isolation facilities, while 2 080 were in home isolation.

An 82-year-old unvaccinated man and a 90-year-old fully vaccinated woman succumbed to the virus on Thursday.

As at July 21, there were 482 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 720 694 tests since February 2020, and recorded 89 339 COVID-19 cases (40 742 males and 48 597 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 868 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 875 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
