COVID-19 Update for July 28

Barbados recorded 329 new COVID-19 cases, 137 males and 192 females, from the 985 tests conducted on Thursday, July 28, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consisted of 61 people under the age of 18, and 268 who were 18 years and older.

There number of people in isolation facilities was 63, while 2 780 were in home isolation.

A 76-year-old man passed away from the viral illness on Thursday.

As at July 28, there were 492 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 727 133 tests since February 2020, and recorded 91 593 COVID-19 cases (41 698 males and 49 895 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 939 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 977 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
