Two men who were caught with almost three kilogrammes of marijuana had pre-sentencing reports ordered on them when they appeared in the District “A” Traffic Court last week.

Rudolph McDonald Lewis, a 54-year-old storeroom supervisor, of Olive Lodge, Holders Hill, St James; and Dwayne Jamal Stanford, a 33-year-old disc jockey, of Near Carlton, Black Rock Main Road, St Michael, admitted having cannabis; a traffickable quantity of the drug and had it with intent to supply, on July 22.

Lewis explained that he had received a call from “a friend of a friend overseas” asking him to collect a package.

“I actually went for it and on my way from where I collected it, I was stopped by law enforcement officers. I own up to everything and I take full responsibility for it,” Lewis said, as he apologised, promising “it will never happen again”.

Stanford said he, too, was called to collect a package. (HLE)
