COVID-19 update for August 2

Health authorities indicated another 325 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Barbados.

According to a media release from the Barbados Government Information Service, 141 males and 184 females were identified from 693 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday.

Health authorities added the cases consisted of 40 young people under the age of 18, and the rest were adults 18 years and older.

There were 67 people in isolation facilities, while 2 664 were in home isolation.

Under the national vaccination programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 960 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 154 016 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
