Hockey likely after Festival

The Barbados Hockey Federation (BHF) is optimistic that the domestic season can resume in earnest following the staging of the Barbados Hockey Festival later this month.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, hockey players have seen their endeavours interrupted on numerous occasions by lockdowns and restrictions, but all that seems to be in the past.

First, on the agenda is the successful staging of the festival from August 21 to 27, which is expected to lead smoothly into the start of the league competition, which in turn will aid the men’s and women’s national teams which have been inactive for some time.

Du Badd are the defending champions in the mixed division and UWI Blackbirds are the defending women’s champions. A Badd Connection (ABC) are the reigning masters’ and men’s champions.   (NM)
