COVID-19 Update for August 18

The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported a total of 246 new COVID-19 cases, 100 males and 146 females, from the 775 tests conducted at laboratories across the island, on Thursday, August 18.

Of the positive cases, 42 people were under the age of 18, and 204 were 18 years and older.

There were 69 people in isolation facilities, while 3 655 were in home isolation.

As at August 18, there were 529 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 747 502 tests since February 2020, and recorded 99 204 COVID-19 cases (44 842 males and 54 362 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 163 108 (71.4 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 154 254 (56.9 per cent of the total population or 67.5 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
