Flash-flood warning for parts of Barbados

Share post:

A flash-flood warning is in effect for western and central districts of Barbados from 1:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday.

A flash-flood warning is issued when rapid flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.

Deep layered moisture, light winds and strong daytime heating are resulting in localised activity across some western and central districts.

Maximum rainfall accumulations of 25 to 50 mm in moderate to heavy showers are expected this afternoon.

The warning may be discontinued sooner, if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
