Police investigating fatal shooting in Eagle Hall

Police were investigating a shooting on Tuesday in Eagle Hall, St Michael, that has left one man dead.

According to a statement from police, officers from the Black Rock station and the Bridgetown-based Criminal Investigations Department responded to the scene in Kings Gap after the incident was reported about 6:25 p.m.

“It was reported … that a number of shots were heard before a man was discovered motionless in the front passenger seat of a motor car,” the police statement read.

“Having confirmed the incident; a medical doctor was summoned, and he visited the scene and pronounced death of the man.”

The statement indicated that the immediate scene has been cordoned, all vehicular and pedestrian traffic diverted from the area, and uniformed police officers are actively regulating traffic.

An update will be given as more information is received.

Police appealed to anyone with additional information to contact the Black Rock police station at 417-7500, police emergency 211, Crime Stoppers at 1800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.

The victim has since been identified as Jarad Trismal Jones-Cox, 28, of King’s Gap. He died outside the front door of his home.
