Police investigating possible drowning

Police in the Northern Division are investigating the suspected drowning at Paynes Bay Beach in St James.

According to a statement from police, the body of Tony McDonald Leacock, 53, of Durants Village, Holders Hill, St James was recovered about 1:15 p.m. on Monday.

Police said a water sports operator was able to locate Leacock’s body in the ocean, which was later identified by a family member, and bring it shore.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Holetown police station at 419-1700, police emergency 211, Crime Stoppers at 1800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
