Dream debut for Linton

NEW SIGNING Demar Linton scored twice on his debut as Potential Ballers opened their campaign in the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Republic Cup with a sublime display to thrash Mavericks 4-1 in a tense encounter on Sunday night at Thorpes, St James.

Joshua Price produced the opener in the 19th minute in a pulsating battle when he beat goalkeeper Ishawn Babb from close range.

Ajani Straughn provided the equaliser for Mavericks mid-way through the first half before Linton bagged a world-class strike to restore Ballers’ lead as the interval approached.

Jahiem Croney doubled Ballers’ advantage in a tension-filled second half during which Linton put the finishing touches on a thrilling night to ensure Potential Ballers took three points back to Silver Sands.
