Super Mario Down Under

BARBADIAN centre back Mario “Bagga” Williams has journeyed Down Under to make an upward move in his professional football career.

The experienced 30-year-old national player is set to become Australian A-League side Macarthur FC’s latest signing pending further medical examinations after the he inked a one-year deal with the side.

Williams arrived in Sydney on Sunday night after a recommendation from assistant coach and former Barbados Tridents’ head coach Russell ‘The Little Magician’’ Latapy.

He will become just the second Barbados international footballer to feature in the Australian top-flight since Paul Ifill’s stint with Wellington Phoenix from 2009 to 2014.
