Sada finishes third in Zurich

Zurich – Commonwealth Games champion and world bronze medallist Sada Williams clocked 49.98 seconds to finish third in the women’s 400 metres at the World Athletics Diamond League final on Thursday in Switzerland.

The Barbadian national record holder claimed U.S. $7 000 for her performance.

Olympic silver medallist Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic won the one-lap race in a national and meet record of 48.99 seconds. It was also a new world leading time.

Her compatriot Fiordaliza Cofil was second in 49.93.
