Government is holding a huge motorcade this week to celebrate the sporting heroics of this country’s “Fabulous Four” – Sada Williams, Jonathan Jones, Shane Brathwaite and Amber Joseph.

The motorcade will be held on Wednesday afternoon with a reception planned for the Prime Minister’s official residence at Ilaro Court on Friday.

The welcome has been organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, the National Sports Council, and the Barbados Olympic Association.

Joseph, the wonder girl of cycling, has already returned home and will join Williams, Brathwaite and Jones on the motorcade, which is expected to leave the Grantley Adams International Airport on Wednesday around 2 p.m. for the Wildey Gymnasium.

Informed sources told Sun Sport that a press conference will also be held at the Gymnasium, which will be addressed by senior Government officials.

Barbadians are being invited to line the route of the motorcade on Wednesday afternoon to greet and celebrate the athletes. (MK)
