More rain for Barbados

Barbados remains under a flash-flood watch as a tropical wave continues to affect the island on Tuesday.

A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur.

The Barbados Meteorological Services says during the morning, rainfall accumulations reaching up to 45mm have been observed across sections of the island.

As the tropical wave in conjunction with a favourable mid to upper-level environment continues affecting the island during the afternoon, further accumulations of 20 to 30mm in moderate to heavy showers are likely.

This alert will be in effect until 6 p.m., but may be changed it conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
