The Barbados Police Service (BPS) has launched another internal investigation, this time into the leaking of a statement to social media.

Acting Commissioner of Police Erwin Boyce said a senior lawman was probing the leak of the file in which Member of Parliament Neil Rowe was accused of rape.

“We have launched an investigation and I can assure you that it is assigned to a very senior officer who is mandated to get results and have his findings before us by the week after next week,” Boyce said.

Rowe appeared in court on Monday and was granted bail of $10 000, but his attorney, KC Roger Forde, said he had grave concerns about the leak. (Nation News)
