Lawrence T Gay Memorial Primary School was abruptly closed on Tuesday.

Parents told a Nation News team they did not know why it was closed, but at 8 a.m., they were told to pick up their children.

One parent said she was frustrated that this school was always closing for one reason or the other.

Attempts to speak to the principal were unsuccessful.

The school has been affected by a mysterious odour. Repeated attempts by the Ministry of Education to the find source have been in vain.

Last week during the annual conference of the Barbados Union of Teachers, president Rudy Lovell called for speedy resolution to the environmental problems at several school, but singled out LT Gay, in particular. (Nation News)
