Constable Patrick Forde said he was on mobile patrol along the Adams section of the ABC Highway on March 21, 2019, when he received information about a suspect in a murder case being transported in a red Mazda bearing the licence plate MC 92.

Forde was one of nine witnesses giving testimony yesterday in the No. 3 Supreme Court in the trial of Hakeem Stuart, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering Damian Trotman at Sheraton Mall on March 21, 2019.

Forde said while travelling towards the Errol Barrow Roundabout, he observed the same car headed in the opposite direction. The lawman said he turned around and followed with about three cars between them, before the vehicle circled the Edwy Talma Roundabout and headed towards the Errol Barrow Roundabout.

The officer said that as he neared the vehicle he observed a person in the rear appearing to be slouched as the head was only visible at intervals. (RA)
