Matthew Rock said he was sitting on a bench in the Sheraton Mall on March 21, 2019, when a man was shot dead a mere 20 feet away.

Rock told the No. 3 Supreme Court that after the shooting he first ran into fast-food restaurant KFC within the food court of the Sheraton Mall to compose himself. Two minutes later he walked over to the body of the man who had been killed.

He was the 17th witness who took the stand in the murder trial of Hakeem Roberto Stuart. Stuart has pleaded not guilty to murdering Damian Trotman on March 21, three years ago.

Rock told the Court he was sitting on a bench near KFC that afternoon, when some blind people assembled in the area to be interviewed by the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation. (RA)
