UPDATE: Fatal shooting at Gills Road

A 22-year-old man was shot multiple times about his body at Upper Gills Road, St Michael, in the area known as Greenfield.

Police say the deceased, whose name has not yet been released to the public, was shot by the pillion rider on a motorcycle. The victim was standing outside a house in the district.

He was taken by a private vehicle for medical treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The two men on the motorcycle reportedly escaped along Upper Roebuck Street, towards Tweedside Road.

Police received the report at the Operations Control Room about 10:40 a.m. and investigations are ongoing.
