A man who admitted illegally having an AK-47 gun, 24 rounds of ammunition and over three kilogrammes of marijuana will have to wait until next week to learn his fate.

Sean George Ivanhoe Whitehead, then 28, of Long Beach Estate, Christ Church, had pleaded guilty on Monday before Justice Randall Worrell to having the items at Wotton Plantation, also in Christ Church, on March 10, 2011.

But when he reappeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday, the judge said he wanted to be made aware of Whitehead’s means before pronouncing sentence next Wednesday.

“If I am minded, as both counsel have indicated, a fine should be utilised in this matter. To do so I need to know his means. So if you can help us with what his means are before the court, then we can have something in concrete before the court,” Justice Worrell said.  (RA)
