Brian Mulligan’s widow Jemma Mulligan said he drank alcohol occasionally, but she did not know he used cocaine.

She was giving her testimony via Zoom yesterday in the No. 4 Supreme Court in the murder trial of Michael Oneal Beckles, 62, of 1st Avenue Maxwell Coast Road, Christ Church, who has denied killing the 28-year-old Englishman on June 15, 2014.

Jemma, who is in Ashtead, Epson, Surrey, England, said her late husband was a fibre optic engineer in Barbados, working on a contract for about six weeks with telecommunications giant LIME, and was the father of two children.

While Jemma said a friend of Brian’s identified his body, she subsequently travelled to Barbados for the autopsy and to take her husband back home.

Under cross-examination by defence attorney Mohia Ma’at, Jemma said she married Brian in 2007 after meeting him in 2004, but knew him for 11 years in total. (RA)
