Five babies – three boys and two girls – were born at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) on Independence Day.
The first to arrive was Kayja Wilkinson at 5:32 a.m., weighing eight pounds 13 ounces. Her mother Kaye Watts was grateful, yet surprised, to have delivered her first daughter after previously having three boys.
“Every girl’s dream is to have a girl child. I will raise her to the best of my ability as I did with my boys and make sure they are healthy and happy. The boys are excited, too, because they always wanted a sister,” Watts said.
The second baby was a male who was born at 10:38 a.m. at four pounds, and the third was another male who was delivered at 12:21 p.m. at six pounds 14 ounces.
Nursing officer at the QEH, Hilda Dyall, who provided the information, was unable to state more about the other babies.
Ansa Trading and Bryden Stokes donated special hampers filled with essentials to the mothers.
