Alert upgraded to flood watch

Date:

Share post:

Barbados is under a flood watch until midnight.

The Barbados Meteorological Services says unstable conditions are continuing to affect the island with further rainfall accumulations of 25mm in moderate to heavy showers and rain across some areas.

Due to the already saturated nature of the soil, a flood watch is in effect. This was upgraded from a flood warning earlier in the day.

A flood watch is issued when the conditions are favourable for flooding within the next 48 hours. It does not mean that flooding will occur. (PR/SAT)
