Six years ago, self-confessed killer Fabian Rommel Vaughan was sent to the Psychiatric Hospital until the Court’s Pleasure was known.

However, he will soon be moving from the forensic ward to the quarter-way house at the Black Rock facility as officials there prepare him for re-entry into society.

It was back in July 2014 that Vaughan, then 34, of Wavell Avenue, Black Rock, St Michael, appeared before Justice Randall Worrell, where he was arraigned with murdering Fred Parris on December 8, 2010. He pleaded not guilty to that offence but guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.

In 2016 he was ordered by the judge to be detained at the Psychiatric Hospital until the Court’s Pleasure was known. (HLE)
