The new executive of the Barbados Netball Association made a New Year call for all hands on deck in preparations for an expected hectic 2023 involving the CAC Games in Panama City, June 23 to July 8 and the World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa from July 28 to August 6.

Former head of the Barbados Association of Netball Umpires, Dr Carmeta Douglin, took up the reins of the BNA in December with only secretary Alicia Jemmott and treasurer Kathy Jones retaining their positions on the new executive.

The Douglin-led administration made an early plea for full support for the sport which is ranked 14th in the world.

“The Board of The Barbados Netball Association greets you with optimism as we venture into 2023. The year ahead will provide us with opportunities to retool and reenergize ourselves to achieve excellence. The fight cannot be done with seven people alone,” wrote Jemmott. (KB)
