It could be a bitter battle for revenge when the Barbados Road Tennis Association (BRTA) stages the second edition of the Harris Paints Electing A Champion Junior beginning on January 14 and climaxing on January 21.

The undisputed young champion Shakeem Nurse lost the first edition in a shocker to Tyrease Holder in a one-game clash on January 21 last year and Nurse will be eager to avenge his sole loss in a junior tournament in nearly five years.

Newly elected president of the BRTA, Frederick Blunt, said that so far 65 children have entered for the competition, which offers prizes of credit union accounts and scholarship.

“So far, we have 29 entries for the 16 to 21 category which is expected to be very competitive. Shakeem has entered along with Tyrease and “Laga” (Deontae Chapman) who are expected to battle strongly to win that category,” he said. (KB)
