The deceased in the shooting at Fitts Village, St James on Friday night has been identified as Ramon Tyrone Archer.
The 33-year-old of Crab Hill, St Lucy, was fatally wounded around 7 p.m. at Risk Road.
He was discovered laying on the ground after residents in the area reported hearing several gunshots, and was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Police investigations were continuing into the early hours of the morning.
