Trainer Andrew “Busha” Nunes was the headline guest on the perfectly executed South Coast Hotels and Resorts Of Barbados Raceday held yesterday at the historic Garrison Savannah.

Before a sizeable crowd that included three-time British champion jockey in 27-year-old Oisin Murphy, the 2021 champion trainer won a treble with Tommasi, Criterion and Bonita Bay.

Meanwhile, apprentice Aaron Daniel continued to impress, achieving a brace inclusive of another feature race success by piloting home Bajan Azteca in the day’s seventh race.

Going 1 100 metres in the Hilton Barbados Resort Trophy for horses rated 75-55 and below for a purse of $20 000, Bajan Azteca showed a clean pair of heels from the starting stalls. (LY)
