Woman killed in the Pine Basin

A 26-year-old woman from Princess Royal Avenue, St Michael, died at the nearby Pine Basin, the Pine, on Tuesday evening.

Police say they were summoned to the scene after receiving a telephone call to the Operations Control Room about 4:55 p.m.

The caller said that a man had stabbed a number of individuals at the location and a female appeared to be dead.

On arrival, police confirmed that one woman was indeed deceased and several others were injured.

A suspect is in custody.

Police communications officer Inspector Rodney Inniss said investigations have commenced and they were trying to piece together the chronology. They are appealing to members of the public who may have information to contact District A Police Station. (PR/SAT)
