Semi-professional sport could be a reality in Barbados if Minister of Sport Charles Griffith gets his way.

Griffith was addressing the island’s best athletes and sports administrators who were feted for their stellar efforts in 2022 at the National Sports Council’s 38th Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday evening at the Gymnasium at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

The event was held under the theme “Discovering Resilience Through Sports”, and the athletes were encouraged to move with swiftness to continue the advancement of the island’s sporting product. (NM)
