Multiple time Sandy Lane Gold Cup winners Jalon Samuel and horse racing icon Patrick Husbands will be side by side at the start of next Saturday’s 40th running of the Sandy Lane Gold Cup.
Their places were confirmed at yesterday’s post position draw at the Garrison Savannah’s Incitatus Members Lounge.
Samuel, the Gold Cup’s last winner on board Night Prowler in 2020, will represent St Philip in this year’s running with the Romell “Perkins” Lovell-trained It’s A Gamble in post position four.
Husbands, who last won in 2014 with Major Marvel, will start in position five with three-time Gold Cup-winning owner Kenneth Ramsey’s Tallahatchiebridge as they represent St George. (NM)
