Fire officials were called in around 2 a.m. on Tuesday to extinguish a fire in a stall at the Constitution River Terminal, The City.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but stock was destroyed.

However, an eyewitness who tried to quell the flames, said he saw two people running away from the scene just before there was an “explosion”.

He said he was sitting on the wall in front of a business on River Road when he saw the smoke. He eventually ran back to River Road, flagged down a car and used the driver’s phone to call the Barbados Fire Service.

Stall owner Tyson Anthony Horne, said he started selling in the area in early December, and in spite of the fire, would not be giving up. (TG)
