Parliamentary representative Dr Romel Springer is hoping the residents of White Hill, St Andrew have better amenities by Christmas.

Plans for extensive rehabilitation of the area, expected to take about nine months, were revealed on Saturday night during a town hall meeting at the Ebenezer Pentecostal Church.

This includes the construction of a new road near the broken path which connects the two parts of White Hill as well as repairs to road on the other side. It is expected to be done in three phases.

“We got an overview of the project. They (panellists) gave some timelines and the various phases in which the project would be executed. Phase one will consist of the Hillaby side plus the new build – which is a new road over the northern side which had broken away; phase two will mostly deal with that new build and phase three will be the remainder of the existing road down to the bottom of Baxter’s Hill/St Saviour’s Church,” Springer said after the meeting.
