Killer gets 14 years

Convicted manslayer Jarviston Glenford Thorne has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by the No. 2 Supreme Court.

However, he will serve a remaining 1 090 days after all the deductions were made.

Thorne, 53, of Jackson Terrace, St Michael, was found guilty, by a majority verdict, of unlawfully killing 18-year-old Kadeem Wilfred, of Perseverance Drive, St Michael, on December 8, 2015.

He was represented by attorney Harry Husbands, while Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale prosecuted.

Justice Randall Worrell pointed to the nature and seriousness of the offence. (HLE)
