Zeeko and jockey Rickey Walcott pulled off an upset to win Saturday’s feature Gordon Lewis Memorial Handicap over 1 570 metres at the historic Garrison Savannah.
That performance gave the jockey a riding brace and trainer Jean-Marc Cozier a sweep of the top three positions in the race.
In the event for three-year-old and other horses rated 140-122 and below, Zeeko was always in contention, lying in second position behind leader Bajan Azteca.
The winning three-year-old colt, who is owned by Nalicia Cozier, maintained that position until challenging for the lead as the horses approached the two-furlong mark. (LY)
