For the first time since 2019, Barbados will be hosting matches in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 cricket tournament.

Now sponsored by Republic Bank, this year’s competition will run from August 16 to September 24, with the final again taking place in Guyana.

The historic Kensington Oval will host six matches from August 30 to September 3, the first time the Barbados Royals will play at home since the franchise was renamed from Tridents.

Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia, the starting venue, St Kitts & Nevis and Trinidad & Tobago will also host matches.

The final leg of the tournament will take place in Guyana with the matches running from September 13 to 24 September. The knockout stages will also be in Guyana.

“We are very pleased that the tournament will be staged in five countries in 2023. As ever, the CPL is a chance for fans across the region and around the world to enjoy world class cricket. And for the players from the Caribbean it is an opportunity to showcase their skills and further their careers,” said CEO Pete Russell. (PR/SAT)
