As part of the National Peace Programme, Government is in talks to find a dedicated space for motorcyclists to not only practise stunts, but hone their skills with an eye to competing at the X Games.
Programme coordinator within the Attorney General’s Office, Akil Daley, said the National X-treme Games Apex intervention programme was but one initiative in the works.
“We are in talks to find a facility to provide a safe space for those guys who do the stunts on the road, to practise those stunts. We want to develop a safe space for them to do what they already love to do, but in a controlled environment.
“However, we don’t only want them to have a space to practise stunts, we would like to send them overseas to represent Barbados at the X Games,” Daley said.
He was speaking after a service at Hope Church, Neil’s Plantation, St Michael, where the National Peace Programme was inaugurated. (Nation News)
