Attorney Vonda Minerva Pile brought down God on two complainants yesterday after they revealed they had got back their monies five years before she was committed to stand trial in 2021 on her second theft matter.

This comes after one complainant said she did not want the matter to proceed but the second dithered about the decision.

The veteran attorney, who stridently maintained she had not stolen any money, later had her theft and money laundering charges dismissed by the No. 4 Supreme Court yesterday.

“Thank you very much and all I can say is, on all three of them and whoever else, the Lord’s hand on them,” Pile said, as she exited the dock.

Pile, of Madison Terrace, Deacons Farm, St Michael, had been accused of stealing $205 481.88, being the proceeds of a Royal Bank of Canada cheque payable to Patricia Hall, between January 11, 2007, and March 16, 2011.

She was also accused of engaging in money laundering, between January 11, 2007, and March 16, 2011, in that she disposed of the sum of $205 481.88 being the proceeds of crime to wit: theft of money. (HLE)
