Unbeaten Spooners Hill Firebirds predictably won the Division 2 netball title and a ticket to Division 1 in 2024 after crushing BPA Police Boys & Girls Club 47-27 at the Netball Stadium on Saturday night.
Police Club, who are also expected to move up to Division 1 by placing second, seemed keen to avenge their first-round loss to Firebirds and face a possible play-off for the title.
But, after leading 10-9 in the first quarter Police Club faded, trailing at the end of the second (14-17) and third quarters (19-30) as Firebirds’ defence and shooting proved too strong.
Emisha Barrow was impressive in the shooting circle for Firebirds, blazing the net 31 times from 39 attempts. (KB)
